“More profit less cost’, was the slogan for David and Tara Brewer, Tallangatta, Victoria when they offered 37 Black Simmental bulls at their 6th annual Brewer Beef bull sale.
Mr Brewer noted their pride in the sale draft and said they are in the top 25pc of the breed for calving ease while birthweight is in the top 13pc and IMF average in the top five pc of Simmentals in Australia.
“The introduction of some new sires this year on the back of the strength of our older sires, rib and rump fat scans are up to 2mm better than previous years while our raw IMF scans have increased on average by 1.5,” he said.
“On all the important indexes, the domestic index of our bulls average in the top 30pc while for the Export Index our bulls measure in the top 25pc.”+4

The bull was the first son of Lancaster Enforcer offered for sale and was described as a ‘thick, super quiet bull with a set of exciting figures that match his phenotype.
An 87.5pc Black Simmental, the bull had the impressive figures of +6.6 Calving ease, -1.3 Birthweight, +54 600 day weight and +1.9 Rib Fat mm.
The sale was settled by Corcoran Parker, Wodonga and Ray White GTSM auctioneer Ryan Morris, took the buyers through the Helmsman auction.
